The ground floor of the house has a small walkway, on both sides are rows of small tables for diners to sit and eat. The special thing is that the restaurant is indoors but there is no parking outside. Instead, diners just drive their cars straight in, to the end of the house and park their cars there.

The “regular” customers of Ba Chieu’s noodle shop have soon become accustomed to this. Parking like this is safe and secure, you can eat and look after the car at the same time, without worrying about loss. Every day, customers coming to the noodle shop are very happy. crowded and bustling with each coming and going. Mrs. Vuong’s three sisters and their children and grandchildren in the family each have their own job, busy serving both dine-in customers, take-away customers and even home delivery orders.

Coming to Ba Chieu vermicelli noodles, if you are curious about the process of forming this restaurant, you will be told by Mrs. Vuong, the owner, about the fortune her mother left behind. Ms. Vuong recalled that this restaurant is older than her years. At that time, her family already had a job making spring rolls, so her mother decided to sell more vermicelli noodles to feed her children. It was said to be a shop, but at first it was just a street vendor, carried by an old lady to sell throughout Bac Hai residential area. Mrs. Vuong emotionally recounted: “When my mother went out to do business, my older siblings often stayed home to take care of me. I am the sixth child in the family. Thanks to this noodle shop, my mother was able to raise eight of us siblings, some of whom are now doctors and engineers. The noodle shop is also the source of nurturing my three children growing up. I always appreciate my mother’s restaurant!”

According to Vietnamtravelio, after experiencing many ups and downs, about ten years ago, the restaurant was moved to its current address – the house owned by Ms. Vuong’s family, also located on Bac Hai Street. Her mother, who turned 88 this year, is in poor health, so she no longer sells directly but stays at home to help her children prepare sausages. Currently, the shop is run by three sisters, Mrs. Vuong. Her eldest daughter also helps with sales.

Ms. Dao, Ms. Vuong’s younger sister (50 years old), used to help her family with the business, but after getting married, she switched to another job. However, as if by chance, after more than a year of returning to Ba Chieu vermicelli restaurant, she returned to her family’s old restaurant to maintain the business with her sisters.

Mrs. Dao confided: “This is the restaurant my mother left behind, it is her precious inheritance, so my sisters and I always try to preserve and develop it. We strive every day to bring quality bowls of vermicelli. and full of enthusiasm for customers, not only because of my mother’s trust but also to repay the love of customers who have supported us for decades.”

Ms. Dao, who heads the Ba Chieu vermicelli kitchen, shared: “Every morning, from 3 to 4 a.m., we go to the market to buy fresh meat to grind and make patties. After being made, the patties are brought to the restaurant to serve customers immediately. It must be fresh meat to create such delicious quality. Whenever we run out of spring rolls, we stop selling vermicelli, because most customers come here because of the shop’s signature spring rolls.”
