The word “Hum” comes from the Sanskrit mantra ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’, which can be translated as ‘Om, to the Jewel in the Lotus, Hum’. In Buddhism, the lotus symbolizes altruism, enlightenment, and also human compassion. So, in simple terms, this mantra means that the bodhicitta (or bodhicitta) blossoms in the hearts of all people. It is said that one should not seek Buddhahood outside oneself; the ingredients for attaining Buddhahood lie within.
3 The process of building and developing Hum
The story of Hum begins Hum Cafe & Restaurantbuilt in 2012 in a historic French villa, located at 32 Vo Van Tan, District 3. The restaurant space is surrounded by lush greenery and natural light, there is also a lovely small lotus pond and a spacious open salad bar.
There are many lovely corners where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, such as the wooden attic floor, the large glass dome overlooking the busy street or the elegant sofas. The interior walls of the restaurant are designed with bold modern Vietnamese art with furniture reflecting the rich local identity.
Hum Lounge & Restaurant is the second facility built in 2013. Initially located in District 1, right in the city center, this facility quickly became a favorite destination for both domestic and international tourists. By 2023, Hum Lounge moved to a new home at 34 Vo Van Tan, District 3. The new space stands out with large metal bonsai pots, meticulously crafted, like small mushrooms growing after the rain. The architecture combines many recycled materials from old facilities, bringing nostalgic beauty and the mark of time.
The third basis is Hum Garden & Restaurant. This branch is inspired by an elegant, luxurious villa, surrounded by lots of trees and fresh, cool air.
