Talking about the name Pho Hoa, many people are surprised because it does not come from the name of the restaurant owner or any relatives, but from the name of a man who carried pho on the street more than half a century ago. According to the story of the restaurant owner, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Xiem, every day Mr. Hoa used to push his cart and walk nearly 20 kilometers from Xom Moi market to Pasteur street to sell. Thanks to fate, he left his pho stall and cooking experience to Mrs. Xiem’s ​​family.

The owner of Pho Hoa also shared that 60 years ago, Pasteur Street was now called “Pho Street” because it stretched for several kilometers with more than a dozen carts selling pho. Back then, although there were no bustling shops, the Pho Hoa cart that Mrs. Xiem, her mother and uncle pushed out onto the street to sell at around 4pm was very popular. Diligently bringing delicious bowls of pho to local customers like that until 12am, they would clean up.

At present, Pho Hoa Pasteur has become a familiar name in the bustling central area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City. And when it achieved the Bib Gourmand title from Michelin, the pho restaurant has become even more famous and attracted more tourists in their journey to explore Vietnamese cuisine.

The beef balls are cut into chewy and delicious pieces, similar to beef ball noodles. The restaurant’s pho noodles are also soft and small, Saigon style.
